DOWNTOWN ART and
ALPHA OMEGA THEATRICAL DANCE COMPANY
SCOPE
Building Renovation, including facade and completely new interior spaces
10,000 SF
SITE
Downtown Art and Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company - two independent non-profit organizations serving underprivileged and minority youth - were gifted the abandoned building by the City. The renovation included a new street front; dance studio; black box theater; and offices. As an immediate neighbor to famous and historic La Mama Theater, the new stucco front echoes the red brick color of its prestigious neighbor, while the new steel awning and signage reflect the progressive, contemporary mission of the two organizations.
