The Cambridge-based biotech company, Nimbus Therapeutics, tapped Susi Sanchez’s team at Charles Rose Architects to renovate the top floor of the brick and steel building that would be become their new home. The design highlights the existing red brick and steel trusses, while creating a flexible and modern workplace. In order to minimize the amount of demolition and new construction and to control costs, the design was strategic in its planning of the space.
The project scope includes a reception area with a digital display; a central, open collaborative space with varying types of furniture and technology to accommodate different work styles; a kitchen designed to be a focal point and gathering space for the office; several meeting rooms for small and large groups; and “dogbone” workstations that give the open workstations more individualized space. Last year, Nimbus engaged Susi’s team again to design for their projected growth to another floor in the building. The scope of the new space mirrored much of the ideas and concepts of the first phase and also added a connecting stair and fitness room.
Susi Sanchez completed this project as a Principal at Charles Rose Architects.
