PONCE CITY MARKET OFFICES
Over the course of 4 years and three major phases, athenahealth moved into 155,000 SF inside the historic Sears, Roebuck & Company building. The design team took advantage of the double-height upper floor to create small mezzanines of open collaborative spaces, connected by steel bridges. In addition to creating additional square footage for Athenahealth, these mezzanines and bridges offer users a different perspective of the historic brick building, their workspace, and their work in general—a concept at the heart Athenahealth’s corporate values.
The project scope includes flexible workstations to allow for the high level of churn among the R&D teams; several kitchens & lounges to create meeting nodes within the large office floor plate; phone rooms, wellness rooms, and lockers to supplement the efficient workstations; expandable training rooms to allow for on-boarding and training sessions; and a recreation room that could be quickly converted into more workspace if needed.
