As part of the City of Boston's Main Street Program, UX provided design services to the mother & son owners of the commercial building on Hyde Park Avenue. The scope of work included the redesign and repositioning of the exterior of the single-story, 4-tenant building.

 

The challenge was to provide a new vision for the building that would support the financial sustainability of the 4 tenants in the quickly evolving Boston neighborhood.

The proposed design included preserving and restoring the owner's mural - designed and painted by her grandson. Our intervention included providing new lighting and plantings to hightlight the artwork.
